Your speaking assessments are timed as you would expect in the exam, and once submitted, you will receive your feedback within 48 hours.
Our feedback is very detailed; it gives you an indication of how well you did on a range of criteria, as well as overall teacher comments.
For IELTS you will get your equivalent test score (i.e. a band score).
The score that you will receive is based on the official speaking criteria used by IELTS examiners to assess your speaking:
Fluency and Coherence
Vocabulary Range and Accuracy
Grammatical Range and Accuracy
The band score for each of the criteria is awarded based on the lowest band score of all sub-criteria - ranging from Band 5 to Band 8+.
This is the format of the feedback and scores for an IELTS Academic Speaking assessment:
You will receive additional comments from the teacher on how to improve each criterion, then you will receive an overall score out of 100 and advice about whether you should book a tutorial to practufurther:
To discuss your feedback and score in more detail, we recommend that you book a tutorial with a teacher. For more information: How do I book a tutorial?
